Light Therapy
When considering non-pharmaceutical approaches to support health and wellbeing, light provides a powerful option. For example, research has established that particular frequencies of light are able to effectively treat skin complaints such as acne; whilst light therapy can also enable people to take back control of their body clock (or circadian rhythm), so that they can feel energised and achieve peak performance just when they most need to. Light therapy can also be used to help address insomnia & other sleep cycle disorders, provide relief from the winter blues (Seasonal Affective Disorder), promote easy adjustment to night shift working and counter the effects of jet lag.
Unlike in the past, the latest technological advances have helped make light therapy conveniently portable and easy to use. Gone are the days when people were required to sit in front of light-boxes or bright therapy lamps for long periods of time. The latest innovations mean that light therapy can now be given by simply slipping-on a comfortable set of glasses or attaching a light pod to the skin, leaving you free to go about your daily routines whilst the light does its work.
